Vision Statement
The community of Odyssey shall be an inviting, positive learning environment for all. Students, parents, and staff have pride in themselves and their school community. The environment shall encourage and welcome interaction, open communication, and mutual respect. We shall nurture within every person a sense of responsibility, belonging, and self worth. Working together we shall help all students to reach their potential.
Our Odyssey staff believes that:
Trust is an essential factor to improve school rapport for all constituents.
Decisions should be made with the best interest of all students in mind.
Shared decision making representatives should invite and seek input from their constituents.
Decisions should be made by individuals or groups and should be made by those empowered to do so using a variety of decision making tools (e.g., consensus, input, problem solving.)
Communication about information and decisions should be made in in a timely manner.
Leadership is a shared responsibility. Effective leadership is proactive, supportive, and decisive.
Our beliefs and decisions should be consistent with the mission statement of Greece Central School District.
Therefore, it is our goal to create an environment that supports effective learning. This goal can only be achieved by the consistent effort of all members of the Olympia team. The specific means of accomplishing that goal should be the topic of constant dialogue.
