Brian Dupra was chosen in Major League Baseball’s annual first-year player draft.
Brian Dupra, the standout starting pitcher for Greece Athena, was chosen by the Texas Rangers in the 36th round with the 1,095th pick Friday.
Dupra, who is 9-0 with two saves and a 0.14 ERA his senior year, has a baseball scholarship to Notre Dame.
The right-hander said after being drafted that his heart is with the Fighting Irish and that, as of now, “I plan to pitch for Notre Dame.”
